Research Assistant Professor

  • Kathleen received her B.A. from Hope College in Holland, MI where she double majored in biology and psychology. She completed her PhD work in Molecular Metabolism and Nutrition at the University of Chicago before moving to Boston for a postdoctoral fellowship at the Joslin Diabetes Center and Harvard Medical School focusing on adipose metabolism and exercise physiology. In 2012, Kathleen joined Dr. Potthoff’s lab as a postdoc. In 2016, became junior faculty in Department, establishing her research program focused on beige adipocyte development and effects of exercise on adipose tissue metabolism. Her hobbies include reading and writing and is an avid CrossFit athlete who enjoys training and coaching.
